In 2005, the largest typical whitetail buck in Texas was taken on this ranch and is known by the local
population as the “Monster Hole” due to the large number of massive bucks on the ranch.
Now under new management – most of the ranch perimeter is high fenced, quality genetics have been
constantly introduced, protein has been fed year-round, and the ranch has been strictly management hunted
for the past four years. The Nobles L Bar Ranch is designed to flourish and provide a high quality natural
environment for the deer and Blackbuck Antelope population.
Of the twenty forbs and grasses conducive to providing exceptional deer food, finding just ten of them
would make for a good deer ranch. At the Nobles L Bar Ranch there are no less than fourteen of these forbs
and grasses that are native to the ranches habitat. Working with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department,
a total deer count will be performed annually and a harvest number will be established. With the hunting
partner and owner working together, the quality of deer will be maintained and improved upon from year to year.
For the 2015-2016 hunting year, an early guesstimate of total deer harvested by the hunting
partner should be around 60. Management bucks will be over a 150 score, one big buck killed by a young
man has already scored a 190, and there are several bucks that are on the ranch that will easily score over 200.
